My Changed NFL Season Life

Monday, 5. October 2009

It has at long last begun. NFL season.

Technically it began last week on the astro turf in Boise, Idaho in a contest fated to be known for what occurred afterwards the blunt Blount party -more memorable than anything that occurred during the 60 minutes of the game.

And now the Steelers – seeking to become the 1st team ever since the Patriots to repeat – began their title defense with a satisfying win over Tennessee to inaugurate the 2009 football season.

I recognize I am not as fruitful during NFL season. All of a sudden, I’m only doing stuff in between commercials, if at all, on weekends, in addition to Thursday nights, Friday nights, and Monday nights.

Then add in fantasy football – which drastically decreases the quantity of time I would otherwise be working, writing, or doing something productive-and many more hours than I am willing to admit get spent on this sport.

This time of year, I certainly don’t eat as healthy.

Wednesday night, I ate salmon with steamed veggies and went for a dip after a 6 mile run.

Thursday (game day), I ate a super burrito, too many chips, several, more chips, and saw the movie Max Payne following the game, prior to checking fantasy lines for Kerry Collins and then stumbling to bed, bloated from the chips.

Do not understand if there are any NFL detox programs and even if there were, I wouldn’t voluntarily take part. Hopefully my family wouldn’t stage any sort of intervention.

Fact is, I don’t want to quit, but as a Broncos lover that can change as the year progresses.

NFL and NCAA nfl are religion for a big percentage of the population. We’re corn chip-eating cult members following the rantings of Chris Collinsworth.

So it’s on. The ‘09 year began and, for better or for worse, life won’t be the same until a month into 2010, when the natural NFL detox begins.
